BOSTON — In a move that blends aviation art with deep-rooted community pride, JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) has officially pulled the curtain back on its newest specially painted aircraft: “Wicked Blue.” Unveiled on December 19, 2025, the Boston-themed livery serves as a flying tribute to a city that has served as a cornerstone of the airline’s identity for more than 20 years.
The aircraft, an Airbus A320 registered as N537JT, is more than just a fresh coat of paint. It is a visual narrative of JetBlue’s journey in New England, marking two decades since the carrier first touched down at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). From the “Rainbow Swash” mural of Dorchester to the golden dome of the State House, “Wicked Blue” encapsulates the landmarks and the spirit that define the “City of Champions.”
A Postcard to the Hub of the Universe
The design of “Wicked Blue” is centered around a “greetings from” postcard aesthetic. Stretching across its deep blue fuselage is a bold, stylized “BOSTON” graphic, where each letter serves as a frame for a distinct local icon:
- B: An ode to the MBTA, Boston’s iconic public transportation system.
- O: The Paul Revere statue, a nod to the North End’s historic revolutionary roots.
- S: The sleek, modern cables of the Zakim Bridge.
- T: A classic Boston lobster, celebrating the city’s world-famous culinary scene.
- O: The Massachusetts State House and its unmistakable golden dome.
- N: The National Grid tank along the Dorchester waterfront, featuring the legendary “Rainbow Swash” mural.
The aircraft’s tail completes the tribute with a postcard-style stamp bearing the date of JetBlue’s first-ever revenue flight from Boston, grounding the modern design in historical significance.
“Wicked Blue embodies our pride in the Boston community, crewmembers, and customers who have helped build JetBlue into the airline we are today,” said Marty St. George, president of JetBlue. “Boston is one of our most important markets… what’s more fitting than sending our pride for Boston flying all over our network?”
Expanding the New England Footprint
The unveiling of “Wicked Blue” comes at a pivotal moment for JetBlue’s JetForward strategy, which prioritizes the expansion of its East Coast leisure network. Since launching at Logan in 2004, JetBlue has grown into Boston’s leading leisure airline, offering more mainline seats and flights than any other carrier.
JetBlue’s dominance in Boston is characterized by its extensive reach to warm-weather destinations in California, Florida, and the Caribbean. However, 2026 is set to be the year of the “Transatlantic Push.” The airline recently announced two major additions to its European roster:
- Barcelona (BCN): Nonstop daily seasonal service beginning April 16, 2026.
- Milan (MXP): Nonstop daily seasonal service beginning May 11, 2026.
These new routes will bring JetBlue’s total European destinations from Boston to nine, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, and Madrid.
The “BlueHouse” Experience Lands at Logan
For the thousands of TrueBlue Mosaic™ members who call Boston home, the airline is bringing its premium ground experience to Terminal C. Following the successful opening of the first BlueHouse™ lounge at New York’s JFK earlier this month, JetBlue confirmed that Logan International Airport will host the second-ever BlueHouse location in mid-2026.
The 9,000-square-foot space is designed to feel less like a traditional airport lounge and more like a warm, residential retreat. Features will include:
- Locally Inspired Dining: Menus curated with Boston-based partners.
- Productivity & Play: High-speed Wi-Fi, quiet work zones, and a dedicated game room.
- The BlueHouse Bar: Artisanal cocktails and craft beers from New England breweries.
A Growing Family of Special Liveries
“Wicked Blue” joins an elite fleet of Boston-centric aircraft that have become fan favorites over the years. JetBlue’s “Sports Row” includes liveries dedicated to the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox, as well as the recently launched “Brewing Altitude” aircraft, a pink-and-orange tribute to the airline’s 19-year partnership with Dunkin’.
| Aircraft Name | Partnership/Theme | Aircraft Type |
| Wicked Blue | Boston Landmarks | Airbus A320 |
| Brewing Altitude | Dunkin’ | Airbus A320 |
| Bear Force One | Boston Bruins | Airbus A320 |
| Lucky Blue | Boston Celtics | Airbus A320 |
Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond
As JetBlue enters its third decade in the Hub, the “Wicked Blue” livery serves as a mobile billboard for the airline’s future. With the introduction of a new domestic first-class cabin on the horizon and the continued rollout of the BlueHouse lounge network, the carrier is doubling down on its “approachable premium” identity.
For Bostonians, “Wicked Blue” is a reminder that while the airline may have its headquarters in New York, its heart—and a significant portion of its fleet—is firmly rooted in the Commonwealth.
