The aircraft, an Airbus A320 registered as N537JT, is more than just a fresh coat of paint. It is a visual narrative of JetBlue’s journey in New England, marking two decades since the carrier first touched down at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). From the “Rainbow Swash” mural of Dorchester to the golden dome of the State House, “Wicked Blue” encapsulates the landmarks and the spirit that define the “City of Champions.”


A Postcard to the Hub of the Universe

The design of “Wicked Blue” is centered around a “greetings from” postcard aesthetic. Stretching across its deep blue fuselage is a bold, stylized “BOSTON” graphic, where each letter serves as a frame for a distinct local icon:

  • B: An ode to the MBTA, Boston’s iconic public transportation system.
  • O: The Paul Revere statue, a nod to the North End’s historic revolutionary roots.
  • S: The sleek, modern cables of the Zakim Bridge.
  • T: A classic Boston lobster, celebrating the city’s world-famous culinary scene.
  • O: The Massachusetts State House and its unmistakable golden dome.
  • N: The National Grid tank along the Dorchester waterfront, featuring the legendary “Rainbow Swash” mural.

The aircraft’s tail completes the tribute with a postcard-style stamp bearing the date of JetBlue’s first-ever revenue flight from Boston, grounding the modern design in historical significance.

The unveiling of “Wicked Blue” comes at a pivotal moment for JetBlue’s JetForward strategy, which prioritizes the expansion of its East Coast leisure network. Since launching at Logan in 2004, JetBlue has grown into Boston’s leading leisure airline, offering more mainline seats and flights than any other carrier.

JetBlue’s dominance in Boston is characterized by its extensive reach to warm-weather destinations in California, Florida, and the Caribbean. However, 2026 is set to be the year of the “Transatlantic Push.” The airline recently announced two major additions to its European roster:

  1. Barcelona (BCN): Nonstop daily seasonal service beginning April 16, 2026.

The 9,000-square-foot space is designed to feel less like a traditional airport lounge and more like a warm, residential retreat. Features will include:
