Jazz’s Keyonte George Leaves Knicks Game With Concerning Injury

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz’s injury-riddled 2025-26 season took another devastating turn on Wednesday night. Rising star guard Keyonte George was forced to exit the game against the New York Knicks early after suffering what appeared to be a significant non-contact injury to his right leg.

The incident occurred midway through the third quarter at the Delta Center. George, who had been the primary engine for the Jazz offense all night, was seen grabbing the back of his right leg after a routine play. He limped immediately toward the bench before being assisted to the locker room by the team’s medical staff. The Jazz officially ruled him out for the remainder of the contest shortly after, citing an apparent hamstring injury.

A Crushing Blow to a Career Year

Before the injury, George was putting together another stellar performance in what has been a breakout third professional campaign. In 19 minutes of action, he had already racked up 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, adding five assists and two rebounds.

On the season, George has cemented himself as the cornerstone of Utah’s future. Through 53 games, he is averaging career highs across the board:

  • Points: 23.8 PPG
  • Assists: 6.8 APG
  • Rebounds: 3.7 RPG
  • Shooting: 45.5% FG / 37.0% 3PT

His absence leaves a massive void in a Jazz rotation that is already missing nearly its entire starting frontcourt, including Lauri Markkanen (hip), Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee), and Jusuf Nurkic (nose).

The Jazz Injury Crisis

The injury to George is particularly concerning given his recent history. The 22-year-old guard had already missed nine games in February due to recurring ankle issues. He had only recently returned to full strength at the start of March, appearing to find his rhythm before this latest setback.
